FAQ
1. Where is the Main Entrance?

Our entrance is located on the right side of the building (not the first door you see in the parking lot) and features an "Open" flag during open hours.
2. Can I Reuse an Old Frame for my Project?
It depends on the state of the frame. We would ask you to bring it in for our framers to take a look. The condition of your frame matters -- especially when it comes to protecting your artwork/photograph.
3. Do you have a DIY Station?
No, we do not operate as a studio for self-produced frames.
4. Can I just Buy Glass or a Matt?
Yes! In fact, you can really omit anything thanks to our advanced POS system. We've even had customers frame their projects without glass, for example.
5. I only need to Wire my Artwork/Canvas-- is that Possible?
Yes! Just bring your piece in and one of our framers will wire your work for you. You do not need to get a work framed in order to have your piece wired & wall ready.
6. Do you Stretch & Frame Canvas?
Yes! Our framers can craft canvases to any custom size. We can also print your photos & art reproductions on canvas at a large-scale (up to 44").
7. Can I Bring in/Print my Boudoir Photos?
Yes! It is best practice to tell your framer beforehand, but we have framed & printed many projects in this category.
8. Do you have Discounts?
No. In general, it is a disservice to our framers to offer discounts as it downplays their labor & the quality they produce for you. We do take great care in appreciating our regulars, though, which should be noted.
9. Do I have to make an Appointment?
No! Every day we get walk-in customers who come in with new projects. If you'd like to ask some questions before bringing your work in, please call us at (401)885-0300.
10. How Long does a Project take to Complete?
Typically, a project won't take more than 2-3 weeks to finish for our framers/art reproduction team. Often, they take great care in trying to finish early for you! This is all dependent on the size & complexity of your project and how backed up we are with other projects. Please have extra patience around holidays and weekends.
11. How Long will Sunbaked be in the Shop?
We plan on hosting Sunbaked in the shop for a year! We are very happy to have her and think she's in a place where she can be truly appreciated for her quirks & artistry.
12. Do you do Printing?
Yes! However, we are not a stationary shop. Meaning we do not print notecards, signs, and other such projects. Primarily, we:
- Scan artworks to be able to print reproductions for artists.
- Print photographs of any kind on any variety of paper.
- Touch up old photos.
- Face-mounting.
13. Do you Frame Archivally?
Yes and no. While we do everything in our power to frame archivally & treat your works with care, we are not certified as archivists. We will never use materials that could potentially harm your piece's integrity, however, and know when & when not to use certain techniques, adhesives, and so on.
14. Can I Get this by Tomorrow?
No... please give us time to properly complete your projects.
15. Can you Fix/Cut Down Broken Frames?
We would need to take a look at your frame. We have fixed/replaced broken frames, but it really depends on the state of the frame. The same goes for fixing photographs, paintings, drawings, and so on.
16. Can you Repair Broken Glass?
It is possible to repair broken glass in a framing project. Please bring it in for our framers to take a look and determine whether the glass is salvageable.
17. Can I have Work Installed in my Home/Building even if they Weren't Framed by Crestar?
Yes! It is not a prerequisite to have work framed by Crestar to be able to get work installed. Please contact us and we will set up an appointment with you.
18. What Time are you Open Till?
Crestar is open until 5pm on weekdays, and 3pm on Saturdays.
19. Do you keep my Records on File?
Yes, we keep your past records on file. This is so that when you return & say "I really liked the last frame I purchased...but for the life of me can't remember what it was called..." we'll have the answer! This makes gallery walls, wholesale print project, and any after-the-fact changes/questions achievable.
20. Do you Frame Jerseys?
Yes! We frame jerseys, rackets, hats, balls, dresses, certificates, awards, hole-in-ones, ribbons... really anything you can think of. If a project seems too niche, please don't hesitate to come in and ask one of our framers what we can do!
21. Do you Love what you Do?
Our shop is dedicated to "framing for joy." Without love, there is inherently no joy. So, yes! Our team is made up of Artists and creatives for a reason... and it's so that you know you have someone who truly cares about the craft taking care of your work.
22. I have a Question but it's not Listed Here!
Please ask! Our framers are always one phone call away. If the store is closed, please also try contacting the website's chatbot, or emailing brendan@crestar.art.
