Visual Depth
By adding layers to the framing design, mat boards can create visual depth and dimensionality, drawing the viewer's eye to the artwork and adding interest to the overall presentation.
Conservation
Crestar uses acid-free archival-museum mat boards to help preserve the longevity and value of the artwork. Many of our mat boards are rag mats (100% cotton), which is interestingly enough the same material used in dollar bills!
