2026 is the Year of the Bold Frame

Our prediction at Crestar.art is that 2026 will be the year of the bold frame. In the Chinese zodiac, this is a Fire Horse year, a symbol of "strength, swiftness, boundless freedom, and unyielding perseverance" and in Numerology 2026 is a 1 year, a defining year of "independence and self-direction."* So, why not take the plunge and consider a unique frame? Too often, we find customers come in holding tightly onto the idea that they "just want a basic black frame." Which is fine, and we cater to those requests readily! However, when able, our team does try to show you the possibilities available. We know that even a black frame can wow (peep this Beatles design we finished recently).

Give the Frame a Home: 

Designers cite creating a focal point of your room that basically houses your bold piece. This includes using bright accent walls in the frames complimentary color or using a vibrant rug to anchor the space & help dictate similar accent elements around the room.*

Just Drench-It, Drench-itttttt🎶🕺🎵: 

Interior Designers everywhere are emphasizing color & pattern drenching in their designs, which leaves room for color matching magic in framed photos, artwork, or mirrors. 

What is Color Drenching? 

Color Drenching is the use of one color, or variations of that color, to cover everything in a room (yes, everything). This is a cheeky way of making a room look bigger & more cohesive. This is a great opportunity to snag a frame in a fun color!

What is Pattern Drenching? 

Pattern Drenching is the same concept, except it includes filling a room with similar pattern-types. Then, with the frame you can highlight dominant colors. Interior Designer Isabella Ladd is a great example of this (also, she happened to use mouldings we carry in-store!).

Don't Forget the Kitchen:
